There were no complete solar eclipses in 2000. There were however some oddities involving partial solar eclipses. There were two partial eclipses in the month of July. This was the first time there had been two solar eclipses in one month since 1880 and not scheduled to happen again until 2206.
Between the two July eclipses ( July 1 and July 31) was one of the greatest solar storms on record, the Bastille Day event that began on July 14 2000.
Also there was a partial eclipse on Christmas Day Dec 25.

The two total eclipses of 1999 and 2006 are spaced 2422 days apart. They are Hepton eclipses exactly 7 eclipse years apart and both occurring on Wednesday.
The intersection of those two great paths occurs over Northern Turkey about 200 miles east of Ankara apparently in the region of Tokat, an ancient city from the time of the Hitittes, which was also a Roman stronghold and had a thriving Armenian Christian community until the genocide during WWI.
These exact same Saros eclipses create the exact same cross over the USA in 2017 and 2024.
The path heads on to bisect Georgia 20 months before its war with Russia then crosses Kazakhstan, including Totality at Capital of Nur-Sultan, formerly known as Astana.

It's Almost as if the Sun and moon are saving up for the lunar tetrad eclipses of 2014 and 2015 and the Great Judgment solar eclipse which will follow for the next 23 years.

The only lunar eclipses considered in our survey involve the High Holy day tetrads.
Lunar eclipses on the High Holy Days of Judaism in the years 2014 and 2015 sandwich a total eclipse of the Sun on the Spring Equinox of 2015 ( Jewish and Muslim New Year) which ends immediately at the North Pole.
Only 7 such lunar eclipse tetrads have occurred since the coming of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago. Another is not scheduled for 500 years.
